The pharmaceutical company R-Pharm Germany GmbH in Illertissen, Southern Bavaria, is embarking on the production of vaccines against Covid-19. Their trusted partner io-consultants GmbH & Co. KG has been supporting them in all stages of the project, from manufacturing of the active ingredient to filling of the vaccine. R-Pharm is investing more than €30 million in the Illertissen site—from the laboratory and production itself to vaccine packaging and shipping.
The filling process is now being expanded following the successfully completed proof of concept, which io-consultants carried out together with R-Pharm.
With their vast experience in value chain planning, io-consultants is implementing the project and advising R-Pharm on everything from manufacturing and filling processes to active ingredients logistics.
Work is being carried out at full speed to ensure full vaccination against Covid-19 as quickly as possible. “We are delighted to have the experts of io-consultants at our side. Particularly with the time pressure in our project, their vast experience in biotech manufacturing and filling is invaluable,” says Annette Steiner-Kienzler, Project Manager at R-Pharm.
