There are approximately 2,700 project management service providers in Germany. They develop their own service offerings and processes—through continuing education and practical experience—since there are no uniform standards, despite the efforts of the DVP and the AHO. A new study by the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) sheds light on this gray area—and provides the first systematic overview of the industry. The study reveals that io is the leader in the PM segment.
With seven German and four international locations, io belongs to the latter group. Three of the German locations are in the most populous federal states (North Rhine-Westphalia, Bavaria, and Baden-Württemberg), as well as in Berlin and Rhineland-Palatinate. The locations in Berlin, Munich, and Düsseldorf are also in so-called “A-cities,” of which Germany has a total of seven. They are considered the country’s most important centers and offer the greatest potential for investors.
io employs over 300 professionals who work in interdisciplinary teams to manage projects from start to finish and, for example, develop custom tools. Among them are 33 project managers, each of whom possesses in-depth, industry-specific knowledge.
