MCA has opted for a future-proof platform

Heidelberg – MCA furniture GmbH has successfully gone live with SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud. The company has opted for a future-proof platform by switching to the cloud ERP solution, making it one of the early SAP Public Cloud adopters within German-speaking countries.

io supported the project as an implementation partner. Introducing the new ERP system was not the only challenge; two newly-founded companies also had to be introduced into the system landscape – therefore proving the solution’s scalability.

Practical extensions for SAP Public Cloud

A key feature of the launch was the development of in-house applications such as the Transportation App and a CEP interface. Both solutions were implemented as interfaces for SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud via the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).

The Transportation App is a supplement to the SAP standard and includes functions for transportation planning, consolidation and returns processing. Transports are planned across companies, routes transmitted to forwarding agents, shipping documents generated and all information is made available in the ERP system. The app is integrated end-to-end and can also be made available for other users.

Parcel shipping with service providers such as DHL and GLS is managed via the connected CEP interface to Shipcloud. Parcels are scanned at a dedicated packing station, labels are created and shipping data transferred directly to SAP.

Further project highlights

• Advanced ATP (aATP): Stock availability can be controlled on a customer-specific basis. Sales-center customers benefit from guaranteed availability, active backorder management and flexible delivery release.
• Variant configuration: Complex product variants are mapped flexibly and efficiently – with a clear structure and ordering process.

MCA relies on a robust end-to-end workflow: all processes are interlinked from order entry to delivery and tracking – in the cloud, integrated and scalable.
